MAIO – A Studio Renovation

Posted on Updated on

Architecture collaborative MAIO have converted a launderette in Barcelona into a design studio and an exhibition gallery which is separated by a small courtyard.

Anna Puigjaner and Guillermo Lopez designed the studio for themselves and all involved at MAIO. The exhibition space has been carefully designed so it allows local architects and designers to showcase their work.

The gallery space is at the entrance of the building which is connected to the office by a corridor along the courtyard.

The courtyard is directly in between the two spaces which allows an infinite amount of natural light to flow into both sides.

Same! Something hidden, out of the way and a complete surprise to its users is a MUST.
      Thank you xx

In Rome – where I live – it’s almost impossible to have enough space or law condition for that!

Hahaaha! Unlucky 😦 These things should be essential – the amount of natural light is outstanding.

Love the spaces, the light, the airiness.
